I remember the phrase “This will go on your permanent record” when I was a kid in school. Guess what, as a student I read what interested me, I paid attention to things in classes that interested me and generally got lackluster grades and still I went to college, graduated, got a masters degree and was a teacher for several decades as well has having several careers. I discovered that there is no permanent record and that grades count for little if anything. This is part of a series of videos I posted several years ago as I was about to retire from teaching.
